The Student Model is for the
dulcimer player who wants a well-crafted instrument with uncompromising
playability without the additional cost of exotic wood and other
aesthetic upgrades. This model is made to the same exacting standards as the Concert
Model with a solid poplar body and walnut fretboard. It also shares
the Concert Model's standard dimensions including a 2 ½ inch side depth and 27 inch fretscale.
Either loop or ball-end strings can be
used on the bridge pins. The fixed bridge helps the newer dulcimer
player avoid having to adjust for intonation during string changes. See the
